ok, this is gonna be
leeee-ttle off the topic of kate spade (though it will
lead to a kate spade related issue at the ending!), but i just need to share this story!
a few days ago, i posted on my FB profile a picture of a pair of Eastbound Heels by Nine West that are simply to-die-for! i receive "Shop it to Me" email alerts now and then from various brands like Nine West, Nordstorm,
Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, etc, and when i saw these heels in a recent mailer, i couldn't resist wanting to get them! they're so nautical! and you gotta love the red on the heel!

and hey! doesn't it remind you of the lorna t-strap wedge by Kate Spade?? =)

and after looking everywhere for them both online and in local stores (i have tiny feet so its almost always a challenge to find my size), i finally found my size at the Wisma Atria outlet here in Singapore. ninewest.com no longer had the navy stripes one, and only had the plain black. pffft.
ok first, the
minah (read: local malay girl) that attended to me must really have been having a bad day, cos from the moment i walked in, she gave me an amazingly sour face, with an attitude to boot - complete with rolling of the eyes when i asked if she had a bigger size, just for me to try. i mean, the pair on display fit me well, but i just wanted to see how much bigger the next size is. the second time i summoned her for assistance, she came begrudgingly, but
not before rolling her eyes once again and muttering something to her
minah counterpart.
what the?? so i asked her: "
I'm sorry, but are you having a bad day, or did i do something to offend you? cos you look REALLY unhappy to serve me." to which she fumbled (cos the whole exchange was witnessed by a pair of female shoppers), muttered something inaudible (she could have sworn at me for all i know), and disappeared into the store room on the pretext of checking with other outlets. she didn't reappear, not even when i left the store.
apa dah. are you upset that you have to serve a fellow
minah, or something? lol!
but this is
not what the story is about!
to my dismay, the pair in my size
in my hands was the LAST pair left, and what's worse, there was a black stain on the left side of the right side. makes sense? ok, the right side of the pair has a stain on the left side. heh.
so i asked the lone Chinese SA that remained (bad-day
minah and counterpart-
minah somehow miraculously had something more important to do in the backroom) if they would have my size in another outlet (but of course i already knew the answer).
nada.
and so i showed her the stain, and sought for her to agree, i'm sure i couldn't be expected to buy a stained pair. more importantly, THEY shouldn't be putting a stained pair on sale an expect a customer to give in and get it in the first place! it's just not fair! they should have removed the stained pair in the first place and not allow it to be on sale!
so yes, i made a teenie tiny fuss, heh. i wasn't unpleasant or arrogant. i just told her, i've been looking EVERYWHERE for these shoes, and now that i finally found it, it is quite heartbreaking that it's not perfect. and it's like i'm being twisted on the arm: get it, stains and all, or don't get it, cos someone else will. you know?
so a few calls here and there to the manager who was not in store (cos i requested to speak with the manager), a fair bit of utterly sad and dismayed expressions and lots more compassion-inducing blabber...i got them for an
additional 10% off on top of the prevailing 30% discount! so i enjoyed
40% off the pair in total! lol!
well, i may have been a bit of a bully, haha...but i did feel empowered as a shopper! =)
and now i finally have the pair of Eastbound heels i've been looking everywhere for!

and the stain? nothing that a few gentle scrubs with the wet wipes won't remove! lol! i managed to get it off and now my heels are looking perfect!! here's how they looked before:

and here's how it is post-wet wipes! *beams*
and you know what this means, right???this means i will have a new "excuse" to shop for a bag to match these heels! woot! woot!
